What to Wear for your Maternity Portrait Session | Southeastern Massachusetts Maternity Photographer
Every woman struggles with what to wear everyday, never mind when getting in front of the camera! The most important thing is that you feel comfortable and confident. Those are the two things that will shine through in any photograph.
Hit up your local maternity boutique to find great fitting pieces. Dresses are a wonderful option. The are beautiful and timeless. If you are worried about your arms, stick to longer sleeves, or get a cardi or sweater to go over your outfit.
I adore jeans and a tank. It’s just beautiful, simple, and the way most women lounge around the house anyway. This is going to sound crazy, but don’t wear maternity jeans to your session! The big bands just aren’t cute. A pair of your old jeans, or new ones that maybe zip, but don’t button, are great. Of course if you won’t be baring your belly, get those maternity stretchy pants on!
You are a goddess! You’re creating life. Your body is amazing. The curves are gorgeous. Going “goddess” is my way of saying wear something that makes it easy to show your curves. A bandeau top and long flowing skirt work well. I can also order you custom maternity gowns just for you session. You can even shoot in your bra and panties or lingerie. It’s the ultimate in feminine.
If you’re not sure what the best option for you is, don’t worry! I always have a phone consultation to point you in the right direction and make sure you get everything you want from your maternity portrait session.
