Vintage Rustic DIY Wedding Middleboro MA

Vintage Rustic DIY Wedding

It was another rainy day for this vintage rustic DIY wedding in Middleboro, MA. Luckily, the showers cleared in time for the tented reception on the grounds beside the First Congregational church. Anne and Karl had a low key, traditional wedding planned. Simplicity was what made the day completely perfect.

Home Town Feels

Anne got ready at her childhood home surrounded by her closest friends and family. Everything was quiet and relaxed. Her home was full of vintage decor which fit perfectly with her rustic themed day. When everyone was ready, we walked through the woods to her church, taking photos along the way.

I grew up, and still attend, an old Congregational church in my own town. So when I knew the wedding was at First Congregational, I was thrilled. There is something special about these old churches. They are full of history and are beautiful in their simplicity. The chapel was flooded with natural light. Old pews and alter added to the beauty of this historic landmark.

Vintage themes filled the couple’s tented wedding reception. Karl and Anne met while attending a book club,  the literary theme carried well. Tables were adorned with vintage porcelain plates and tea cups. Simple elegant flower arrangements in mason jars kept the rustic elegance feel. Because there was no dance floor, the reception brunch was focused on enjoying time with friends and family.

What made this wedding extremely special was the couple’s devotion to their faith. First, with a traditional ceremony it was clear their focus was on God. Next, the outpouring of love they received from friends during speeches. The one message that rang clear was that Anne and Karl were dedicated to their faith, and that God had brought these two together. Most of all, the focus on the love they shared, as well as the love of family and friends, was the focus of the day. This was not a wedding for glitz and glamour, or to party all night long. This wedding was about two people, in love, and living the Word.
